4.7x3.6 cm Pancreatic head Lipase 331

No adrenal masses some slight thickening of medial limb of left gland probably from focal hyperplasia. Lung bases otherwise clear. Too sm to charactize hypodensity seen in mid left hepatic lobe. No renal collecting system dilation. Enlargement of the pancreatic head 4.7x3.6 cm. No abnormal enhancement. Small sliver of pericardial effusion .  This is from W/WO contrast.  Then had chem lab...Amylase 61 normal 25-115 but Lipase Im 331 normal 114-286.  I've heard this can be cancer and you can die within 7 yrs. I heard if its pancreatitis/ inflamation (inflammation) its a horrible operation and dangerous. im getting a MRI in a few weeks but need to hear some facts. Im a single model/ actress and mom who is Very scaired, my son needs me and I like being alive. Can this be anything less serious. Any chance I will be told to go home everything is O.K. How big is the head suppose to be.Is mine very large. The Lipase how bad is mine.  Can any possibilities be cured by medicines..This sounds horrible. Really appreciate your opinion.  Iwould send you some extra money for a good explanation if there is a way I can. Cant sleep Im so scaired. Thanks !

I agree with the MRI, this is indeed the appropriate test to evaluate the enlargement of the pancreatic head.  Another option would be an endoscopic ultrasound if the MRI is non-diagnostic.

Other possibilities can be a pancreatic pseudocyst or the effects from chronic pancreatitis, but cancer needs to be excluded first.

I would discuss these options with your gastroenterologist, or discuss with your personal doctor to see if the MRI can be done more expediently.
