A possibility?

A possibility?

I hope someone has info on my question.....

Even if one's gallbladder doesn't show any signs of stones isn't it possible to have a gallbladder that isn't functioning properly. I ask because I was told by a nurse that even though no gallstomes are visible, ones gallbladder could still give someone pains such as those mentioned such as pain under the ribs(right side although left side is not impossible) and middle back problems.

I was also told there is a test to see if the gallbladder is working properly. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone

The Dr can preform a Hydascan. You are injected with  a radioactive solution.  you lay on an xray table and they watch the solution as it goes through your gallbladder.  they time it and are able to tell if it is a slow gallbladder or not.  It is painless, you just have to lay on a table for 1 to 4 hours depends on how long it takes to clear the gallbladder.

I did not have visible stones.  They did a colangeogram ?Spelling and found I have very small gravel, multi layers of gravel.  My ultra sound indicated I had sludge.  So I guess you could ask if this is possible and see what your doctor has to say.  Good Luck!
