AST & ALT

  I recently had blood work done for life insurance but was denied due to
  high levels on the AST & ALT levels.
  The amounts were:
  ALT        238
  AST        128
  GGT         18
  AP         100
  Bilirubin  0.5
  Creatinine 1.0
  BUN        13
  I do not drink and am not overweight.  I have taken from time to time
  the herb Ma Huang which contains ephedra (about 10 mg or 1 pill per day)
  
  Would this elevate my metabolism and/or ALT/AST amounts
  to such a high level?   What else could this be?????
