Acute Gastritis no bleeding/H. Pylori/Pain continued

This is a continuation of my last guestion I was knocked out of the page and could not get back.

My question is this....except for my upper GI that indicated a questionable mass...an endocscopy with biopsys showed no mass and a hatius hernia and only  only bacteria...and a CAT SCAN that indicated everything is basically normal except for a cyst outside my kidney and some cysts inside that are  that are questionable....I have pain.

Can the H. Pylori cause pain?  I am going through an ordeal with the prevpac because I do not tolerate antibotics well....I am only on my third day and it has been hell.  I am told that if I continue to a least the 5th day I will get relief from the acute pain that comes and goes.

Sometimes the pain is in the middle of my stomach...sometimes under my left rib...sometimes all my organs feel like they are burning....and sometimes under my right shoulder blade there is a burning pain.  

I am going for a colonoscopy and a evaluation on the kidneys.  Have they missed something ?...this pain comes and goes and sometimes comes with certain foods or when I am I do too physical activity.   I have lost 20 lbs in the last 2 1/2 months because most foods cause distress except for very bland food...bread.tea...rice cereal...soft boiled egg...and sometimes I tolerate certain ice creams.  Food seems to take it's time going through.

I have been told by family that it is all in my mind.  But the acute pain comes mostly for a reason...food mostly and I think from the antibiotics .....otherwise when I am not in pain I am just fatiqued and weak.

Is there anything to the dr's suggestion that the pain will decrease or leave if I finish this prevpac?

You have been through a pretty good evaluation with a CT scan and endoscopies.  There is evidence of H Pylori.  Even without inflammation or an ulcer, it may be possible for the presence of H Pylori to cause discomfort.  Treatment, and confirmatory tests to make sure the bacteria is eradicated, can be considered.

Further tests to consider would be an ultrasound to evaluate the liver and gallbladder.  You can also consider a HIDA scan with CCK stimulation to evaluate the gallbladder ejection fraction - which can also lead to upper abdominal pain.

More specialized tests to consider would be a 24-hr pH study with esophageal motility studies.  This can evaluate for GERD as well as esophageal motility disorders.  

These options can be discussed with your personal physician or in conjunction with a GI specialist.
