Acute Gastritis no bleeding/H.Pylori/Pain..

I am grateful for your response...unfortunately my GI has scheduled a colonoscopy for me Thursday...despite the fact that still have pain...he has taken me off the meds and said he will give me a new combination Thursday....

I am concerned about the FLEET  Phospho-Soda oral saline laxative I am instructed to take.  Iasked him about the fact that Ihave abdominal pain...no nausea or vomiting and the fact that the CAT SCAN showed cysts outside and possibly inside..he said that does not mean my kidneys do not function.  How bad can I be effected by this if there are problems? Am I being overally concerned?

Also my personal physician retired in the middle of all this without any referral..I am coordinating on my own and a bit lost...Is it allowed to ask you to give me names of a GI and Personal Physician in the South Jersey or Philadelphia area who would be familiar with the tests you suggested.

Up to now everyone I have been dealing with has been leaning towards the fact that I am psychomatic..but I have never felt this sick before and no one has suggested further testing of the liver or gallbladder..this was making me feel that I was crazy.......I hope I am staying within the rules by asking this information.

I am not personally familiar with physicians in that area of the country, so I can't recommend any names.  Most GI physicians should be familiar with the tests I have mentioned.  You can start going to a major academic medical center in the area, and asking for a referral to a gastroenterologist.

It is true that the presence of kidney cysts does not necessarily mean that the kidneys do not function.  To evaluate for kidney function, a simple blood test can be considered to measure the creatinine level.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I went through the colonoscopy....the Fleet phospo-soda was less problems than I thought (except for the taste) I called the manufacturer who suggested that I drink three 8 oz glasses of water with 1/3 of the fleet in each glass and continue to drink at least six 8 oz glasses of clear liquid up to midnight. It worked for me.

They found two pedunculated and sessile polyps in the sigmoid colon and in the cecum.  The polyps were to to 10 mm in size.  These polys were removed with a hot foceps.  Resection and retrieval were complete.  When he left he said "everything was allright" except for polyps that were sent for to pathology.  I researched and it seems that the sessile polyps can be cancerous...am I right...could this cause abdominal distressin the left upper quadrant?

I have contacted an internist at the Pennsylvania Hospital to co-ordinate my problems and answer my questions hopefully ...I have an appointment this Tuesday..I feel this GI doctor I have is evasive with me..perhaps for a reason...I have also made an appointment for counseling and hope that this will support me.  I am fortunate to have insurance...but for those who do not...any hospital offers clinic assistance based on salary....it takes time..but you can avail yourself of medical assistance....if you are deligent to get pass the phones and red tape...you can always call the patient advocate office of the hospital for assistance.  Hope everyone is well...and
I will keep you all in my prayers especially the doctors that keep this site open.   Lady

Because I have pain after I eat unless I stay on tea and small pieces of bread..applesauce...and soft boiled egg....I am being asked to test (MRA) for Mesenteric Ischemia 557.1  (intestinal angina)...all the test have come back without any reason for the pain I am having.  What do you know about Mesenteric Ischemia...I researced it and if I have it am in a lot of trouble.  This onset came in June and slowly progressed to where I have lost 25 lbs...and able to eat less and less.  I am not sure if it is considered Acute or Chronic.

I will ask you again...do you know a hospital or physician or surgeon that specializes in this illness.  I am going to an internist from the pennsylvania hospital in philadelphia.  I have not asked him that question yet..but I am asking you now.

I hope you can give me some directon as to how to help myself with this rare disease.
