Appendicitis

I was awakened about 2:45 this a.m. with sharp pains in right side of abdomen, approximately 5" below ribs.  Never had this  before.  No nausea or other problems associated.  Pains went away, but area is tender to pressure (pushing on area and releasing).  Could this be a caused by appendix problem?

Hi, how are you feeling today? Have you had any pain or nausea today? Have you done any strenuous activities or lifting in the last few days? If the pain keeps up, I'd go to the ER. You don't want your appendix bursting (if that's what it is). My husband went months with pain and he didn't get nausea until his appendix had burst and leaked into his abdomen. He not only had to have emergency surgery to remove the appendix, but he had to have drain tubes put in to remove the pus. My father had the same thing happen. Best of luck. I hope you feel better soon!
