At risk of Colon Cancer???

I am 27, and nobody in my family has a history of cancer...but whenever I have spicy/hot food on the day before, my stool on the next day would contain blood (not a lot, just a dot on the surface of the stool).  My stools don't come out like a nice banana shape, rather it's all loose, shapes like rocks, or marbles.  Am I at risk of Colon Cancer?  I went to see a doctor and was told I am too young to have cancer.. but ...

Let me take that back, I just had a bowel movement and there's BLOOD!!!  I haven't eaten anything spicy yesterday nor the day before, so I know it's not from that.  The blood is bright red and it's like on two out of several chucks.  What should I do???  My doc is out on vacation till next week, should I do a FOBT? or a colonocopy???  does this hurt??

Could be hemmoroids (hemorrhoids). See a doc and do what he says. Colonoscopy is one option and no, it doesn't hurt. You'll be out, basically.

first of all dn't panic!! I had black stools which means bleeding from high up in the colon. I was extremely worried of course,, but after a colonoscopy, everthing was seen as being fine in there.
I agree that you may have hemerroids. A symptom of colon cancer is thin pencil-like stools not balls or the way you described yours, blood in stools not just on top but inside as well, and gas.
Everyone is at risk for cancer, but you sound fine. Go to your doctor and have it checked out. You do have to find out if it is just hemerroids or something else. Do you have any other symptoms? I suggest you keep record of all symptoms to bring to your doctor (a daily journal) and keep track of your bowel movements, gas or any other symptoms involoved. The more information you can give, the better they can know what tests to give you.
