Dear Juan,
I interpret your letter to indicate that you have had infections with both hepatitis B and hepatitis C virus.  Hepatitis B virus does not evolve into a hepatitis C infection.
Before responding to your question regarding therapy, I would like to share some general information regarding the outcomes of hepatitis B and C.  Ninety five percent of patients who acquire hepatitis B will clear the infection (that is become immune) and not have any long term consequences.  Five percent of hepatitis B patients will be unable to clear the virus and will have liver disease of varying degree.  About 1% will have acute liver failure.  In contrast, about 80% of patients with hepatitis C will evolve into long term liver disease.
Treatment will depend on the nature of your infections.  If you have ongoing hepatitis C infection and have cleared hepatitis B virus, then you should be treated with the hepatitis c dosages of Interferon ( 3 million units 3 times per week).  If you have active infection with both B and C viruses and the heptitis B virus is felt to be the predominant cause of the liver disease, then you should be treated with hepatitis B dosages of Interferon ( 5 million units daily).
This information is presented for educational purposes only.  Always consult your personal physician for specific medical issues.
