Biliary dyskinesia and intense burning feeling of upper body

I am 55 W/F. My HIPA test with CCK came back today with a nuclear ejection fraction of 8%. For the past 3 weeks I have had progressively intense burning pain of the skin of my upper body at night that wakes me up every hour. I'm exhausted. My eyes burn and my nose is raw.  I always have to urinate when this happens.  I don't have the typical symptoms of gallstones or biliary dyskinesia. I have only moderate nausea and no abdominal pain. I did have the burning feeling when the CCK was injected, but it wasn't as intense as it usually is. My family doctor says I should have my gallbladder out, but I think I should check with a gastroenterologist first to get the full picture (stricture etc). I've never had gallbladder problems before. I had breast cancer 8.5 years ago so there could be other things going on. I'm exhausted from lack of sleep, but from other posts, I see that a quick removal of the gallbladder might not fix the whole problem. What should I ask the gastroenterologist to check out?

A gallbladder ejection fraction of 8% is markedly low.

There are some small studies suggesting that removing the gallbladder can help in these cases of low ejection fraction.  However, there is no guarantee that the pain would resolve.

You can also evaluate for other causes of abdominal pain - such as dyspepsia, an ulcer or GERD.  An upper endoscopy can be considered to evaluate these possibilities.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
