Can a gastrojejunostomy cause a false positive for alchol?

I has a gastrojejunostomy y-en-roux in 1987.  On a recent drug test my urine came up positive for alcohol.  There was no sugar or ketones in the urine.
Is it possible that my gastrojejunostomy had anything to do with this?  I don't want it to happen again.

Hello - thanks for asking your question.

To my knowledge, a gastrojejunostomy is not associated with a false positive urine alcohol test.

High levels of sugar and acetone in the body can cause fermentation in the urine which may create a false positive for urine alcohol.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I know of no reason why a gastrojejunostomy would give a false-positive urine test for alcohol.
