Can any one help please

Can anyone help?!
My problems started over two years ago when I was rushed to hospital with blood (dark) gushing out of my rectum.
It was so scary to say the least I stayed in for five days and they did a sigmoidoscopy and found nothing. After that I had boughts of  Diarrhea until 9 months later when my stool went black! tests where done on this and confirmed Blood present. I lost loads of weight and was lined up for a Colonoscopy which revealed nothing! and a endoscopy that revealed a small Hietal hernia I went to see a nutritionist who put me on the hay diet (still on it today) which seemed to help. I gradually got better and over the following 7 months started putting weight on again. Then we went on holiday to Majorca and I was so ill I had to go to hospital there! I had cramps, pain, bloody diarrhea and was put on a drip and various tests revealed nothing.
I came back to the UK and for the first time they did some tests on my stool and found Amoebic Dysentery!!!!

It sounds like you are having dark stools without a clear source of bleeding.  Tests that have been in your description includes a colonoscopy, barium enema, small bowel series, and upper endoscopy.  You note that you were treated for dysentery.  

If you are indeed having continuing dark stools, you need further investigation.  Typically if the source of bleeding is not revealed in the studies that you mentioned, it may be in the small bowel - which can be difficult to scope.

One option would be a video capsule endoscopy.  This is a relatively new technique that can be discussed with your personal physician.  It entails a capsule with a camera that is swallowed and then images can be evaluated.

Regarding your questions about dysentery, it is certainly possible that it can recur - however I would ensure there are no dangerous causes of your dark stools first.
