Chronic Stomach Pain and Infections

I am a 30 year old female with 2 ulcers, have had gall bladder removed and have been on regiments of antibiotics and antacids frequently for returning stomach infections.I have had increased pain for the last 3 weeks on a daily basis causing vomitting and blood pressure to rise, antacids do little for comfort and I vomit when I eat....I recently found out my biological father died of stomach cancer and my mother had these symtoms (symptoms),including chronic stomach infections with no explanation from any doctor who treated it and now I'm running into the same responses,,,"Too young for this kind of problem" and am given more antibiotics and nothing is getting beter.I recently discovered blood in my stool and have started vomitting it in small amounts,,,,,I have also developed pain where my gall bladder used to be,,,,how is this possible and does nayone have a suggestion for treatment? Day after day of this ongoing pain is taking a toll on my nerves and my family...I fear I'm falling into a depression and I need help....due to my age the doctors I see treat me as if I need a shrink and a pill,,,,I need answers!

Your symptoms could possibly be caused from gastritis or inflammation from the ulcers causing delayed gastric emptying (both of which can cause nausea and blood loss).  I assume you've had an upper endoscopy performed.  As for the pain in your RUQ, it's possible after a cholecystectomy to develop spasms of the sphincter of oddi (the valve at the end of the common bile duct), bile duct stones, or narrowing of the bile ducts.  Your GI doc can perform an ERCP to inspect the bile ducts for any abnormalities.  Hang in there and be persistent with your doctor if your pain and symptoms continue.  Good luck!

it is true that you need to have a upper scope done and also also it would be wise to ask your doctor if a colonostomy would be in order considering your symptoms if you fell that your doctor is not taking you seriously then it sounds like it is time for a second opion i noticed some one else posted a comment and said don't give up they are right because i seen many doctors before i was diagnosed .i would sugest seeing a gastro and digestive specialest.wishing you well.

I agree with what the others have said, get further tests.Your symptoms sound like mine and I'm 29 and am getting the same responses from doctors as you. I'm now being tested for Crohns disease(apparently a colonoscopy can detect this). Don't give up, I have had to keep going from one doctor to another and will keep doing so till I know what is wrong so that I can start to live a normal life again. Good luck.

Well, if any one hears anything, let me know too, 'cause I'm 19, already had my gall-bladder out, and have been experiencing the same problems for almost 2 years now.  But one things for sure, don't let the doctors sluff you around.  You do have a problem, and you need to find someone to work with you to help you get to the bottom of it all.

If you have stomach problems changing your diet could help, try going to a nutritionalist and explain your problem.Im so sick of doctors most of them just dont care anymore, they just want to make money. get you in and out.I had intestinal problems for a long time, and pain on the whole right side of my abdoman,A strict diet change and some supplements are working good for me.I hardly have anymore pain.Try doing a search on nutritionalists in your area,or look in the yellow pages.hope this info will help you.

Just want to say dont stop going to your doctors and just go to a nutritionalist.my advice is to use a nutritionalist along with regular doctors.I also agree with others who commented about getting a second opinion.
