Chronic diarrhea

Chronic diarrhea

At least a several times a week I have bouts of diarrhea. I don't eat a lot of sugary foods but I do eat a lot of carbs. I have noticed that if I drink more soft drinks than usual the incidents increase. If I decrease the amount of carbs and remove the soft drinks from my diet I don't suffer near the amount of problems.

Any Ideas?

hi i too have had chronic diarrhea for going on 2 months...i have IBS, and the GI told me to stay away from alcohol (particularly beer) because anything carbonated irritates the bowel more. i am also taking citrucel every night because it helps provide bulk in the intestine and absorbs extra fluid. IF i stay away from alcohol and carbonated drinks, i am ok with this regimen and don't have the bouts of constant diarrhea...

I experienced your  problems for 3 years.I was advised to QUIT milk and dairy and no longer have problems. If I do eat dairy - I take a couple of Lactaid pills. (over the counter product)My pain was intense and I had movements many times a day and a lot discomfort and pain all the time.
