Chronic stomach pain

For the last 20 years I have had stomach problems. I am a 43 year old female.  At times the pain is quite severe.  Doctors have told me that I have ulcers or chronic gastritis, depending on the doctor.  I have tried dozens of prescription drugs and have had the "scope" at least a half dozen times.  I don't have to eat to get the pain anymore.  There are days I wake up and within a few minutes the pain strikes.  I have cut out coffee, tea, soda, greasy foods, all the things that I have been told not to eat.  Frankly the constant pain is wearing me down because I am so tired of living in pain.  Please help!!!

when you say they have done a scope are you speaking of a colonoscopy? and have they done an upper scope or a uppper and lower gi? have they done any ct scans, ultra sounds?, and the one thing that erik ask someone was have they checked your female organs for indo or other possible problems. last and final question is do you have a gastro/digestive specialest taking care of you or is it a family doctor.i personaly know how long it can take to be diagnosed.the best thing your family doctor can do for you is refer you  to a specialest when he or she sees that they can no longer provide you with the health care you need they  internest not specialest in digestive or womens health needs. when i changed my family doctor the one i found was great he knew my problems were way beyond what he could do for me and he started finding specialest that he knew  could help me and for the first time in a very long time i knew i was getting to the bottom of all my health problems. if you have been with this doctor for a long time over this 20 year period maybe you should seek a second even a third opion if the need be .
