Clear liquid discharge from anus causing strong itching.

My digestive system will react to certain foods like onions, cream, butter, heavy cheeses and satay sauces.  My reaction to these foods has only developed in recent years.  I am 46 years old.

When this occurs I first experience a strong itch in my anus. I then pass some stools but I then experience a discharge of a clear liquid that has a fish like smell and a slippery feel. I guess that it may be strongly acidic because it causes strong itching to the point where the skin around the anus becomes weak and may bleed. This discharge can continue for some hours (usually in the night time) perhaps until the offending food has moved through the system.

I have received medical advice on allergies but have not yet identified all foods that cause this reaction. I have sought specialist medical advice on what may be the source of this discharge but have not received an explanation. I would like to understand this better and to look for any sort of treatment once the reaction commenced.

I am not aware of a specific disease that links a food reaction with anal itching.  

Testing the stool for parasites can be considered.  Also, looking at the anal area to rule out pinworms should also be done.  

Malabsorption can be evaluated by sending the stool off for fat analysis, as well as blood tests looking for celiac disease.  Various breath tests can be done to look for bacterial overgrowth or lactose intolerance - all which can contribute to your symptoms.  

These options can be discussed with your personal physician, or in conjunction with a GI physician.

I am a 19yr old male, who also has this same problem, and this is why I joined this site, to possibly seek an answer.  This just started out of the blue about a year ago.  I also have the same clear liquid that smells like fish.  Please let me know if you have found out anymore about this!!!
