Color of stools

Color of stools

My sister recently spent a month in the hospital with pancreatitus (pancreatitis).  (Also, she had her gall bladder removed the first week of hospitalization.)  She is now home but has had mustard-colored stools for approximately 3 weeks.  (She is taking stool softners for constipation prescribed by her physician.)  She's on a low-fat diet and she eats shredded wheat and broccoli for fiber.  She describes her bowel movements as feeling very nervous as if an animal is racing through them but she doesn't have diarrhea.

Her doctor said the stool color is normal after pancreatitus (pancreatitis).  She doesn't have yellowing of the eyes or skin but she's concerned something else is wrong because her stools have not normalized.  She recently experienced another bout of extreme bloating/swelling in the adominal (abdominal) area and some tenderness in her left back and was bedridden for 2 days.  The pain was not as severe.

She is going to make an appointment with a gastro-specialist but wanted some piece of mind in the meantime that the stool irregularity and the swelling is normal.

hi,
i have the same problem of green stools and lower abdominal pain.
all this started after taking a strong antibiotic.
i am desperate because doctors do not know what is wrong.
did your sister had green stools before the operation? did the doctors told her what was the reason for this color?

tell me how she is going on.
