Complications from Lap. Cholcystectomy

Complications from Lap. Cholcystectomy

I had surgery on 5/25/2001, I am still having burning pain at the gallbladder site. I called my doctor on 7/3/2001,he stated that I had inflammation and ordered a Medrol dose pack. I take my last dose tomorrow, but continue to have this burning pain. Will this pain eventially disappear or do you think this is a serious complication? Also, do you think the Biliary duct was damaged?  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi I doubt this is a biliary duct injury.  The reason I say this is I had a transected duct which 9 days after the Lap Chol I was jaundiced & stools grey.  They did an end-to-end over T-tube repair which failed 9 months later due to strictures (scar tissue build up) and the symtoms (symptoms) again were jaundice with grey stools.  Your liver puts out quite a bit of bile and if your duct were leaking you'd most likely be jaundiced
