Constant Constipation and Bellyache

Both my family doc and a G.I. specialist do not take my symptoms seriously.  The G.I. doc did a short and long, flexible tube exam last fall.  Results were negative, looking for polups or other things in the colon.  What are the diagnostic tests I should ask for to rule out stomach cancer?

I think the main test for stomach cancer is an EGD, or endoscopic gastro-duodenoscopy. They sedate you and pass a fiberoptic tube through your mouth to visualize the stomach directly. But constipation is usually not related to stomach cancer. Sounds like more of a lower GI thing. Any weight loss, blood in the stool, or family history of colon cancer? I'm sure your doctor checked your abdomen for any palpable masses. Might need more fiber, exercise, or to drink more water. How old are you and how long have you had the problems?

My mother's doctor just did some tests on her and found nothing to with constipation, but polups in her stomach. She had no symptoms of having some kind of problem and there is no record of it being in our genetic DNA or history. For those out there who think they do not need doctors, they do and if they do not go for a regular check-up and tests it could get them into more trouble. Trust me my family and I found out the hard way, my mom is in the hospital awaiting a date for an operation without even knowing she had anything wrong with her.
