Could I have a Ulcer?

Im 28 in shape male. I take 80mg of nexium daily. I started drinking a  few beers again about a month ago. Now after I drink I have some stomach acid like pains on my right side. My Dr says its impossible to get a ulcer while on 80mg of nexium. He seems to think it could be nerves getting stimulated to cause the stomach pain. He wrote a perscription for iymipramine 10mg. I find this crazy. Is it possible that my stomach is very sensitive to alchohol and the drinking has caused another ulcer. Or what could this be? Is there anything I should check into? Why is my stomach so sensitive?

Certainly an ulcer may be possible.  Without further testing (i.e. an upper GI series or upper endoscopy), it is impossible to tell for sure.

You can also be tested for a bacteria known as H Pylori - which is associated with inflammation and ulcers.

I would consider one of the aforementioned tests for further evaluation, and if negative, consider a 24-hr pH study which can definitively rule out GERD.

If the symptoms continue, a referral to a GI specialist can be considered.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
