Cyst on Liver

Cyst on Liver

During a Barium Enema with contrast, a cyst was discovered on my liver which will be removed during intestinal surgery in the next week or so.

My question is this.  I was in an automobile accident on May 25, 2001 - my liver is located where the V of the seat belt comes together with the seat belt buckle.  My right hip was pushed back 4 inches at the time of impact.  Now I have a cyst on my liver, could this be caused by the trauma of the auto accident?  If so, how can it be determined to be a result of the trauma from the auto accident?

The reason I put this together with the auto accident is because I was involved in another auto accident in 1990.  Following that auto accident, a large ganglion cyst popped out of the top of my left wrist with 7 to 10 days of the accident.  Is there such a thing as being 'prone' to cysts from trauma?

This is just a guess, but they found a cyst in my liver while looking at a scan as well and they believe it is contributed to birth control pills.  So if you have taken them or are on them chances are that could be what the cyst is from.
