Effects of Constrictive Clothing

Effects of Constrictive Clothing

Diagnosed with IBS.  Main complaint has been chronic diarrhea for a number of years.  This is a serious question I am uncomfortable asking my doctor:  Does constrictive clothing (tight jeans, panty hose, etc.) exacerbate diarrhea?  I've noticed a correlation, but am uncertain if it is imagined.  I have problems with bloating, if that is a factor.

Also, my doctor said hemorrhoids are normal with IBS.  How do I know if I have external hemorrhoids?  I can feel bumps (impossible to see from this angle, of course) that are quite uncomfortable, but do not surround my anus.  Would a topical ointment (over-the-counter) harm me?  Or would I be better off to consult my doc?  Once again - not that comfortable with the doc yet (new doc due to insurance changes).

Thank you.

I think you can arrange mirror in the floor to see the area. In my experience the best treatment for external hemorrhoids has been a frecuent combination of cold and warm baths and some herbal cream (hammamelis virginiana, etc.), not creams containing hydrocortisone. Of course follow a high fiber diet.
