Elevated Liver Emzymes with Thyroid Disease

  I am a 57 year old female in good health except for a mild hypothyroid disease with antibodies.  My alcohol comsumption has been very, very low until I developed heart palputations,  some 9 months ago.  Since that time I do not drink at all.
  I visited my doctor in February with general muscle and joint pain, with lots of discomfort while typing, which I do at least 8 hours a day.  He found my THS to be a little high, which he corrected by increasing synthroid form .075 to .100.  He also did liver tests, which all came back slightly above normal.  I had been using tylenol about 3 times a week, maybe one or two tablets a day.  I stopped the tylenol after the first test.
  I was retested a month later, and most tests were within normal ranges except one emzyme.  
  My muscles have not improved.  My arms are still quite sore.  Can the liver be causing these problems?  Is it normal for a hypothyroid disorder to cause elevated liver test results?

It is difficult to interpret the significiance of slightly elevated liver tests, because often these are non-specific findings.  It is possible that the Tylenol was the cause of the elevated liver tests.
In severe liver disease, with other signs of hepatic decompensation ( jaundice, ascites[fluid accumulation in the abdomen]). it is possible to have muscle wasting and weakness.  based on your description of your liver disease, I would be surprised if the liver is the cause of the muscle soreness and joint pains.  You should know, however, that some causes of liver disease can also cause muscle and joint problems  e.g. autoimmune diseases.
Hypothyroid disease can cause elevations of the liver tests.
