Elevated Liver Enzyme

I am a 29 year old female who has had elevated liver enzymes for probably the last 15 years.  I have seen 2 Gastroentorologists one when I was a teenager who ran all "normal" tests (hep A,B,C, ultrasound of the liver and other tests whose names I cannot recall)  everything was fine.  He suggested I lose weight and retest.  Needless to say 15 years later I didn't lose the weight and retested with the same problems, again had all the tests done including the ultrasound and everything is normal.  I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and am now on synthroid.  Could this be the cause of my elevation?  With no other tests coming back abnormal what is my next step?  If there was damage to my liver would it show in an ultrasound?
