Elevated Liver Enzymes

Elevated Liver Enzymes

I am a 37 yr. old female recently taken to the ER for severe abdominal pain just under the ribcage area.  No result was found.  It felt just like a gallbladder attack, but my gallbladder was removed 3 years ago.  My blood tests indicated elevated AST/SGOT (169) and ALT/SGPT (119).  I have been experiencing very sore muscles, some night sweats, and diarrhea for some time.  However, I am currently taking zoloft and usually have diarrhea when taking zoloft. Additionally, I had a stillbirth at 20 weeks in late March (due to trisomy 13). I am concerned about the elevated liver enzymes and wonder what they might indicate, especially with the other symptoms.  Also, could the ab pain be related?  I do have a visit scheduled with a Gastro doc in 2 weeks.  Thank you.

Elevated emzines as yours are indecations of active
liver desease. Your numbers are x3 normal IE: 0 to 40.
I have similar numbers and have had for 9 months. The
diagnosis I have is Loupoid Hepatitis.

Strongly recommend a gastrointerologist check you over.

i saw a note about elevated liver enzymes and thought this might be helpful.
i saw a gastroenterologist 6 wks ago.my GP SENT ME TO CHECK FOR POSSIBLE INTERNAL BEEEDING BECAUSE OF CHRONIC ENEMIA W/NO APPARENT CAUSE.MY CHART DIDNT ARRIVE IN TIME FOR MY APPT SO THE DR TOOK A BREIF HISTORY.HE ASK IF THERE WAS ANYTHING I THOUGHT HE SHOULD KNOW.  I TOLD HIM MY LIVER ENZYMES HAD BEEN ELEVATED FOR OVER 6 YEARS BUT TWO DIFFERENT GPs HAD TOLD ME IT WAS NOTHING TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT. HE SAID IF MY ENZYMES WERE ELEVATED IT MEANS I HAVE LIVER DISEASE.I WAS SHOCKED AND ALARMED TO SAY THE LEAST. I HAD AN ENDOSCOPY AND COLONOSCOPY (BOTH NORMAL) I WAS SCHEDULED FOR A LIVER BIOPSY 1 WK LATER. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AUTO IMMUNE HEPATITIS. I AM ON 30MG PREDNISONE+50MG IMURAN. MY ENZYMES ARE NORMAL NOW BUT I WILL TAKE SOME AMMOUNT OF THESE MED FOR A VERY LONG TIME TO KEEP ME IN REMISSION.
I AM FORTUNATE TO BE IN THE SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE SYSTEM. OTHERWISE WHO KNOWS HOW LONG I WOULD HAVE GONE NOT KNOWING I HAD SERIOUS LIVER DISEASE. I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE.   MIMIGRITS IN ILLINOIS

HI,
I just wrote a long comment to desperate that you might be interested in. I have sphincter of oddi disease, diagnosed 2 years after I had my gallbladder out. Feels just like a gallstone, but its not. My liver enzymes are elevated most all of the time and I have also had problems with the pancreatic ones going up, or getting pancreatitis.
