Elevated liver enzymes

Elevated liver enzymes

ast 74, alt 83, ggt 135, cholesterol 7.6 triglycerides 2.7

I drink perhaps twice a week and about a bottle of wine or 5 beers at each occasion - roughly. My liver enzymes are elevated expecially ggt. Cholesterol is also very high. Do u think all these are caused by alcohol or should i be looking elsewhere for the cause. Am slightly overwieght.

hello, you need to look at other possiblilites. My Liver enzymes have been elevated for almost 4 years. I was told that they could not find the cause, so they decided that I had Gilberts syndrome!!! But I developed Pancreatitus (pancreatitis) 6 weeks ago and was very ill, and they are now connecting the two. I am also slightly over weight and I was told that , that could have been the reason why. Any way Good luck.

Alcohol can definitely be a contributing factor.  Stay off the alcohol for 30 days and have a retest.  See what the results are alcohol free.
