Fatty Liver

Assuming no cirrosis (cirrhosis), how long after one stops drinking does the fatty liver start to go away?? Is it days, weeks, months years?  How much does HCV cause fatty liver?

Are you overweight?  Are you doing anything else to heal your liver?  (Eating healthy?)  I have fatty liver and my doctor wants me to lose one pound a week until I reach a healthy weight.  I figure that will take me a year.  I am halfway there.

Congrats on being halfway there!! You ought to feel pretty good about what your doing! In answer to your question, I am 10 pounds over weight.  I am eating healthy and exercising regularly. I think most of the fatty liver was due to drinking.  I am just wondering, after 2 months, if my liver is getting to the point where I can have a biopsy w/o fatty liver.  Thanks!
