Dear PB:

I was interested to hear the results of your barium swallow.  It is interesting to hear that you  had significant reflux of barium high up in your esophagus.  I understand that you have no symptoms of marked reflux such as heartburn or a bitter taste in the mouth.  Unfortunately, a barium swallow is the not the best study to evaluate the extent of significant gastro-esophageal reflux.  In addition, there are circumstances where one can have significant reflux without symptoms.  The presence of Barrett
