Fissure

Fissure

I was diagnosed almost 2 yrs. ago with an anal fissure. (right after the birth of my son) Anyhow I had lots of bright red blood with a bowel movement and horrible pain at the anal opening. To this day I dont think it has completly healed. I dont have near the pain or blood, but I did notice the other day a slightly harder bowel movement with a little discomfort and a little amount of blood on the toilet paper. Is it possible that this fissure has never completly healed? And will it? Or could this be something else? I'm a 27 yr. old female currently expecting otherwise no health problems. Thanks

you may have hemorrhoids which will sometimes bleed after a difficult bowel movement. try using a stool softener or adding more fiber to your diet...

i'm 18years old and i currently have been diagnosed with quite a serious anal fissure as i left it for so long untreated.
I am currently being prescribed an ointment called xyloproct.. it is a cream that numbs your anal canal so you don't feel any discomfort, all you do it apply it around the opening before a motion or if needed to be taken rectally you are given a little gadget to help you get it up there.
might be worth a shot about asking your GP about it.. it takes away the discomfort while it heals..
and in the mean time just eat plenty of fruit and veggies to keep you regular and soft.  or as my GP told me.  aim for toothpaste :)
