GERD...and malaise??

Is malaise a common or expected complaint accompanying GERD? I realize I don't sleep well at all with GERD, but I get so groggy, I often nod off while sitting upright. And I'm tired all the time. Thanks.

Dear Kay,
If you wake up because of chest discomfort or aspiration of gastric contents, then you may suffer ma;aise.  I would tend to agree with Phil that there are other possible explanations for your malaise of which one is sleep apnea.  Obesity can be associated with reflux and sleep-apnea syndrome.  If you belive that youmay have a sleep disorder contacting an appropriate clinic for further investigation is warranted.
