Gallbladder Attack

Gallbladder Attack

I have had a gallbladder attack about once a year for the last four years.  Just had the last one on Sunday.  Severe pain, chills, nausea.  Usually lasts about 6 hours and then goes away and the next day I'm just a little sore.  Although I'm still dealing with a little pain from Sunday's attack.  A year ago I had an ultrasound that showed no big stones just sludge.  My questions are: 1) Sunday's attack was set off by McDonalds french fries, but I've had McDonalds french fries a number of times this past year with no problems.  Why this time?  2)  Will my gallbladder just get worse even if I keep my diet in check?  Just to add, my mom and her mom (both overweight) have had their gallbladders out and I'm 33, run/walk everyday, normal weight and don't eat high-fat foods too often.  Thanks!!

Your gallbladder might have put up with the fries until now. So i would cut those out of your diet for now...and try a fat free diet with plenty of vegetables and fruit and bread, pasta and rice. See if that works! Best of luck.

You might want to have a different test done.  My gallbladder completely stopped working and I had no stones.  I had a severe attack and they did a test which shows how my gallbladder was functioning.  After 2 hours my gallbladder didn't show up on the xray because it stopped functioning.
