Going Alot

Over the past 9 months to a year i have been having frequent bowel movements...In the past,i always went once a day usually..

I been to many doctors and they have ruled out physical ailments.
I had a colonascopy and some stool tests analyzed..And had had some bacterial test done(test for Celiac)...All tests were negative...

So through all these tests--i still have no answers..
I consider it a good day to go twice a day but , i have days where i go 9 times daily...

Usually these bowel movements include mucous..
But not always..Some movements
are normal size, some are smaller bowel movements..
I thought maybe --i had IBS, but i experience no severe pain, but do get cramping...

I am a nervous person in general, but this makes things for me- even more  nerve wracking ..To the point, i will not leave the house unless i have to...

I was a big coffee and diet pop drinker but have lowered these intakes quite a bit over the last couple months.

Any ideas..

You have clearly had a comprehensive evaluation already.  Further testing can be considered with repeat blood tests for celiac disease, or breath tests for bacterial overgrowth and lactose intolerance.

If the tests remain negative, medications for irritable bowel syndrome can be considered - such as increasing the amount of fiber in the diet, or antispasmodic agents.

A referral to another GI specialist can be considered - preferably at a major academic medical center.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
