Help--medicines for hepatitis B

Posted By Meng on May 12, 1998 at 21:06:39:

I am desperately in need of an expert to provide some useful information for the
patient of chronic hepatitis B.
Screening Result:
HBsAg +
anti-HBc +
anti-HBe +
HBsAg   +
Polymerace Chain Reation technique Result:  HBV-DNA +
1.How about Interferon in curing the disease? What are the possible side effects?
2.From the PDR(1998),there are 5 kinds of Interferon medicines: Intron A,
       interferon ALFA-2B, Interferon ALFA-N3, Interferon BETA-1A and 1B. What
are the differences? Which one is better?
3. Is Lamivudine a better cure than Interferon? Has it been approved by DFA? What
is its problem? Is it true that in the clinical trial many patients relapse with even
        much higher level of aminotransferase?
4. I found in PDR(1998) that there are two medicines called Epivir Oral Solution and
Epivir TAblets with contents of Lamivudine? Are they approved medicines for
        hepatitis B?
Your response and kind help will be  highly appreciated!
