Help on info about chrons

I have been suffering for a year with many symptons ( fatigue, diareaha, general aches and pains ) They found systemic granuloma tissue  in a node under chin, and are now looking into chrons that has gone outside the digestive system. I have searched the web for information on this, no luck, can you provide me with this and also information on systemic granulomas, ( what they may indicate)  Thank You
Dear Jo Anne,
If granulomas are present on intestinal tissue biopsy specimens the most likely diagnosis is Crohn's disease. Nonetheless, the absence of granulomas does not exclude the diagnosis of Crohn's disease. Only half of the documented cases of Crohn's disease reveal granulomas in surgical specimens. Although granulomas usually affect the bowel wall, they can be found in the abdominal lymph nodes, mesentery, peritoneum and liver. These lesions result from contiguous spread of the disease from the intestine. They are only rarely found in peripheral tissue (such as the lymph node under the chin) unless they are also present in the bowel wall.
Aside from Crohn's disease, there are other disorders that are associated with granulomas. For example, enlarged lymph nodes and granulomas are common in a systemic disorder called sarcoidosis. In sarcoidosis the lung is commonly involved.  Other disorders include infections such as tuberculosis, syphillis (syphilis) and fungal diseases.
If you wish to search the web again, you can try using the term granuloma alone as opposed to systemic granuloma. I hope you find this information helpful.
