Hemorrhoidlysis

Hemorrhoidlysis

I am in the process of having Hemorrhoidlysis performed.  Everything I read about it says that it is painless. I have experienced tremendous pain from the procedure.  It actually is as painful as having a baby.  My body has gone into tremors from the pain.  My doctor seems to think I am exagerating. Please believe me I am not. I have had knee surgery, etc. this is by far the most pain I have ever experience.  I know that my hemrroids were very large.  Why is it so painful.  My doctor can't answer me, he just says,"everyone is different.
Should I continue.  He is now "tagging" them.  Can anyone tell me anything. I hate to quite after all this.  But, also I a frightened and tired of all the suffering. I have two more appointments .

I do not have enough experience to say why Hemorrhoidlysis is painful in your case.  You are correct in saying that most of the cases are painless.  If there continues to be pain, you may want to be re-examined by another opinion to ensure there isn't anything else going on, other than the hemorrhoids, or there is no infection present in the area.

Another consideration would be some kind of endoscopy (i.e. flexible sigmoidoscopy) that would examine for other anorectal diseases.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
