Hemorroids/Fissure/Rectal Cancer

I have rectal bleeding when passing stool. 3 or 4 times during the day when I pass gas I pass blood stained mucus only (no stool). Other times I just pass gas only. Can the three issues I mentioned in the Title cause this or could it be something else?  I have an appointment next week with a colorectal surgeon and I am very nervous about the outcome.   I know that I have external and internal hemmoroids (hemorrhoids) plus the fissure but I don't know yet whether it is cancer but I do feel that if it is cancer it is located in the rectum or anus.  I just finished a round of Cipro for a bladder infection and while I was on the antibiotic my rear felt a lot better.  Now that I am off of the medicine which I only had a 3 day supply I can feel it getting worse again.  I wonder if I could possibly have infection in the area which could cause this.  I know I will be finding out very soon but I would just like a little more insight before I face the situation.

The only way to know whether it is cancer or not would be to perform a colonoscopy.  

I agree with the referral to the colorectal surgeon, and it's likely that the colonoscopy will be discussed.

Infection, such as colitis, can lead to rectal bleeding, but you have to exclude cancer or polyps first.

I realize that I have to determine if cancer is present.  I was simply asking that since I saw an improvement when I was on the Cipro in the way that my back passage felt was it possible that I could have some sort of infection and I did not get a response to that question.  I know that there is a good possiblility that I do have cancer
