Hep C in Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Patient

My husband received a kidney/pancreas transplant in 1992. Last week the transplant clinic told him that he has Hep C in his blood and inflammation of the liver. We are scheduled to see the Hep C team at the Hosp of the U of P in Philadelphia where he is followed for the transplant.

We are scared to death. From what we are reading there is no treatment for him because of the drugs he must take for the transplant.

Anyone know of or had a similar situation?  Thanks all for your time.
