Hepatitus Live virus vacination (Help)

I received the hepatitus (hepatitis) live virus vacination in 1973 while serving in the Marines. Since that time my liver enzymes have been highly elevated, I itch all over and every time I bend at the waist my stomach muscles cramp, and my energy level seems to be getting less & less.I am white male, 50 years old, 70" tall and weigh 185 lbs.

I know you must be upset not knowing what is going on.  Has your doctor requested you do other tests (like Hep A,B,C) and an ultrasound since you show elevated liver function results.  If not, find another doctor.  You should be tested if only to eliminate the possibilities of whatever is causing your problems.

I do not know what kind of hepatitis vaccine you received in 1973.  Was it gamma globulon for hep A? I had gamma globulon for Hep A and I was informed it decreases in protection and eventually wears off by about 6 months.  It does not protect you from B through G viral strains of hepatitis.  Keep in mind it could be anything, fatty liver, gallbladder and not necessariliy hep.  That's why you should get a full examination with tests.

(I was very worried about my liver too because I had a lot of pain there.  It turned out to be "slipped rib syndrome")

PS....A hepatitis vaccine does not induce or cause the active disease hepatitis to develop later in life.
