How are you doing Nanci

Hi Nanci.  How are you doing these days?  Did you start the anti-d's?  Which one did your dr. prescribe to you?  I still haven't filled out my Trazodone RX.  I've been doing pretty well controlling my GERD on my own w/out prescription PPI's.  I keep Zantac with me and other than a sinus/head cold I'm doing OK.  Still have some slight burning in upper right chest area at times.  Was wondering about you though.  Let me know what the latest is.

Not doing that great!  Still have burning and discomfort.  PPI's don't seem to be doing the trick and now I'm wondering if taking them is making things worse.

I'm taking Celexa and it has taken the edge off.  The only side effect is incredible yawns!  It's still trial and error and I'll make a final judgement in a week or so.  My husband seems to think that I'm alot calmer and little things are not bothering me as much.  I'm the type that would take a hyper if the counter is messy after he makes a sandwich - I know, pretty anal.

I still don't like taking anything like this but until I get some answers (and I am going to get s second opinion), I need all the help I can get to control my stress levels.

So, I don't feel an incredible difference, just sort of a subtle feeling of calmness.

Glad to hear your feelng better.

I'm sorry you are not feeling much better.  I'm telling ya, I came off the Prevacid and felt better.  That's not to say that you will.  But I ALWAYS had problems with side effects from Prevacid and Nexium (Diarrhea, nausea, and it never seemed to help with the burning anyway).  I've read that if you stop them all of a sudden you will have a rebound effect and will actually make the burning/reflux worse.  So it is recommended to taper off.  Have you been off the PPI's before?  As far as the Celexa, my husband would probably love it if I took some of it..LOL. I'm the say way about messes and little things.  Sometimes I wonder if I have an obsessive-compulsive disorder when it comes to cleanliness and tidiness.  We keep a folded sheet on the floor for my Shih Tzu and if that thing gets crooked I HAVE to straighten it.  And if my husband rinses out a cereal bowl and leaves cornflakes in the sink I get all bent out of shape..LOL.. Maybe I DO need something to calm me...No wonder I have GERD right?  I do hope you get to feeling better.  Since all my test keep coming back normal the only thing I can contribute to my GERD is having my gallbladder removed and my body is still trying to adjust even after 3 months post surgery.  I don't know.  I have good weeks and bad weeks and maybe one day I'll have more good than bad.  Best of luck to you.
