just wanted to note, the section on Inflammatory Bowel disease is quite a bit out of date and some of it is now inaccurate.  the references are dating from the 1970 & 80's.  studies are currently being done on use of probiotics and 'pre'biotics as treatments for IBD.  some are proving to help if used in conjunction with other therapies (more so for UC than CD).  others are being shown to not work as treatment at all.
