Is this Gerd????

Is this Gerd????

For the last four months I have had bouts of nausea, especially
in the morning. Persistant belching, burping especially after
eating and in the morning.  I have also had chest pains after eating
sour taste in the mouth, loss of appetite, heartburn and occasional sore throat
I have also had acid coming up when I lye down.  I have been given
cimitidine but now I take omperazole and metraclopromide.
Is this Gerd, a hernia or something else??
Dear Gary,
Your symptoms are suggestive of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). You may benefit from dietary and lifestyle modification as well as medical therapy. You might want to ask for doctor for more information on this condition or refer to the many Gastroenterology Forum questions and answers devoted to this topic. If you continue to have symptoms despite conservative medical management you may require further evaluation and testing. Good luck to you.
