Lower Abdomen Pain

Lower Abdomen Pain

I am a male 32 years old and have developed a consistent pain in my extreme lower abdomen during the last week and a half .
The pain is more pronounced immediately prior to visiting the bathroom and has increased in intensity during the last two days .There is no blood or any general problem that I can detect .
What can be done about this and what could it be ? I am interested in knowing what is located in the lower abdomen which could be causing this . I ahve been under a lot of stress lately .
  Thank you .

Dear Bruce,
Lower abdominal pain could be due to inflmaamtion of stomach or small intestine.  Appendicitis can produce lower abdominal pain that is i9nitially diffuse but then localizes to the right lower quadrant.  Sometimes kidney stones can give lower abdominal pain but the oain is usually localized and quite intense.  Testicular problems could cause lower abdominal pain as could hernias.  Finally, many people will have abdominal pain when they are under severe stress.
