Mid to Upper Right Abdomen Pain

Mid to Upper Right Abdomen Pain

A week ago I went to a chiropractic session.  My chest and stomach was exposed to the table which did not have a cover. In addition, I went to an Asian massage place in a big city.  No sex was involved - just massage I think there was tissue on the table covering my skin from the actual table.  Within a few hours of the massage and about 8 hours after the chiropractic I started to develop abdominal discomfort which went away in an hour or two. The pain came back stronger the next day and just today I had an ultrasound and Xrays and nothing showed. They said they checked appendix but said pain would be lower if appendix pain. Blood work was all normal. Today I also an endoscopy which ruled out ulcers which were suspected but that also showed nothing.  Do you think I could have caught anything from the chiropractic table or massage place, parasites or something else? - I do think oil was placed on my right abdomen where it still hurts.  Should I consider parasites or something that a medical test might not show?    I was told a CT scan is also a good option.  Please let me know if there are other things I should consider in helping me figure out what the cause of this pain could be.

You have had a pretty comprehensive evaluation for your symptoms.  I agree that the CT scan would be a reasonable next test.

If there is concern about parasites and other colonic infections, stool tests to evaluate for ova, parasites and bacteria can be done.  A colonoscopy can also be done to evaluate for colitis and inflammatory bowel disease.

If the tests and CT scan continue to be negative, irritable bowel disease can be considered - and appropriate treatment considered.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician, or in conjunction with a GI physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I also feel less hungry which is likely due in part to the pain but there also seems to be a bloateed feeling which I have even prior to todays endoscopy.

also was found to have oral herpes about 9 months ago.  after the first few months I have no symptoms and do not take any medication.  Is this a possibility for the abdominal pain that shoudl be investigated?  All other std tests were negative

I asked your opinion on if parasite could be likely based on massage and chiropractor experiences I described.  I did not get an answer on this?

have you checked for PID?
that is a symptom, you might want to look into, esp if you have lower back pain as well (you mentioned chiropracter)
good luck and feel better.
