Minor discomfort in the anal region

I apologize in advance, this is a bit difficult to explain...

In the last few days I have had a "popping" sensation which feels like it's just inside my anus.  I can't feel anything external whatsoever.  When I relax, I feel something kinda slide down, and when I clench up I feel it go up.  Again, i realize how vague this sounds.  

I don't have any pain, itching or any other discomorts.  I have had several normal bowal movments so nothing, outside of the strange feeling, seams to be out of the ordinary.

Hemorrhoids or an anal fissure can lead to the discomfort in the rectal area.  

A anoscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy can be done to further evaluate the area.  Of course, anal cancer is one possibility that needs to be ruled out.

These options should be discussed with your personal physician.  If hemorrhoids or an anal fissure is present, a surgical referral may be needed.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
