Mobilisation of Oesophagus via Mediatinum and Long Oesophageal Myotomy

Posted By Graham on February 04, 1999 at 17:41:43:

I had laproscopic surgery carried out 10 days ago, following a 2 year period of severe diffuse oesophageal spasm which started immediatley following laproscopic fundoplication and hiatus hernia repair. I was in ICU for 2 nights and a further 6 nights in Hospital.
Being now 10 days post-operative I am having severe central abdominal pain radiating to my my lower rib cage.  I also have a lot of pain from the laproscopic sites, especially the site where the chest drain was in for 4 days.
I am feeling quite unwell, and am wondering whether something from the Mediastinum Laprocopic procedure could be causing the pain of this severity.  I am taking analgesia 6 hourly with little response.
