Mucas

Mucas

About 3 weeks ago i strained too hard to have BM and when i wiped all there was some clear mucas with some blood. I went to see the doctor and ended up having a colonscopy which came up all clear only for hemmeriods. He told me that the hemeroids were not that bad to do anything. Anyway last week i have beed having rock hard BM with a lot mucas. Now i am not sure but i think there is also some more blood in them. They are not bright red they are more brownish/red. I am color blind so it is hard for me to judge the right color. I have had no other symptoms excecpt i am seeing mucas that might have redish/brownish in them. I went back to my family doctor and he told i dont have anything to worry about just to up my fiber intake to soften the stoll.
He just told me that it would be the hemmorios.
Do you think i have anything to worry about.
By the way i am 35yo with no family history of any bowel problems.

A negative colonoscopy would rule out most of the major lower GI diseases that can be leading to your symptoms.

Other causes of mucous in the stool would include malabsorption or chronic pancreatitis.  Sending the stool off to test for fat malabsorption, as well as obtaining blood tests to look for celiac disease and pancreatitis can be considered.  An abdominal CT scan can evaluate the pancreas as well as an inflammation of the bowels.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
