NO IMMUNITY TO HEPATITIS VIRUS

I had blood work done for a pain and numbness in my right hand (to rule out carpal tunnel) I also had EMG,neurologic exam and brain MRI with and without dye, for cause of pain, carpal tunnel was ruled out at this point.
Bloood work indicated that I was not immune to hepatitis and I was referred to my doc for "booster" hepatitis shot, which I had.
My doc has prescribes neurontin for pain and is concerned with my liver function, why? How are my symptoms related to my liver?
I also had herniated cervical disc C-3-4 fused 10+ years ago as result of MVA
Could this tingling and numbness, coldness and burning sensation in fingers of right hand be signs of diabetes?
Dear Tomi,
Elevated liver function tests have been reported after taking the drug Neurontin. This may explain the reason your doctor is concerned about your liver. He or she wants to make sure that you do not have underlying liver disease and that you will not get hepatitis in the future. There are a small percentage of patients that do not respond to the hepatitis B vaccine (so called genetic non-responders) but for the most part, patients develop immunity to hepatitis B after the vaccine is administered.
Diabetes may cause a neuropathy. The best person to address your symptoms in this regard is your primary care physician. I hope you find this information helpful.
