Nausea & Abdominal pain

I've been to ER twice for mainly vomiting since the first week of last month; I thought I was recovering after that but then about a week ago I threw up again (only a little), since then my condition has been going downhill every single day.

I'm experiencing more abdominal pain (upper part of my stomach) more frequently everyday, sometimes it's like some type of sharp pain, mostly dull, and they come and go, most of the time it's just very uncomfortable pretty much constantly.  If my stomach is somewhat empty, it feels worse.  However, I don't have problems sleeping so far.

I also get nauseated when or after I eat, or when I'm under stress so bad I can't even go to class anymore.  This is a major problem because my finals are coming up next week, which obviously is the most stressful time for me, and I'm not feeling any better, only worse, it's very frustrating.

I've been taking ranitidine before bedtime, and pepto-bismol 2 - 3 a day, and of course lots of water - but they don't really work for me, my symptoms only get stronger and worse, not better.

I do have a doctor's appointment, but that's on the 14th, which is after my finals... bad timing? Yes.  I really need to know if there's something I can do or buy to make me feel better, or just slow down my symptoms.

Thanks.

I would further evaluate the upper digestive tract.

There are a variety of causes for the symptoms.  This can include GERD, an ulcer, inflammation of the upper digestive tract.  An upper endoscopy as well as tests for H Pylori would be an appropriate approach for these possibilities.

Imaging the abdomen can also be done.  An ultrasound and/or CT scan can evaluate the liver, gallbladder or pancreas, where pathology there may lead to the symptoms you describe.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
