Nausea

I have had recurrent nausea for the last year.  The last two weeks I have been nautious evey day, all day long.  I am Bi Polar 2 and recently (7/31/02)was weaned off of Depakote (1500mg) as I am planning a future pregnancy.  I have seen an MD which ruled out pregnancy, gall stones, and revealed a normal Upper GI study. The sickness I am experiencing is interfering with my work and life activities.  Is it possibly a side effect of Topomax (topamax)?  I currently take 800mg per day.  When pressure is applied to my lower right quadrant of my abdomen I have severe pain, but only when pressure is applied.  I also have uterine fibroids.  Could it be related to that?  I'm tired of feeling nauseated every day and nothing is jumping out at the doctor.  Please help!!!

Ask your doctor to send you for a stomach emptying test. It's possible that your stomach is not digesting food properly, thus the nausea. Could also be meds, but this is a simple test, and this condition is often not recognized, because it is supposedly not very common, but I think that is due in part to misidiagnosis.

I have been having nausea,bloating,and constipation. Most all foods bother me.
I have a gastric emptying study scheduled this week on Wed,and On Fri..Please could someone tell me about this test.How it is performed and how long it takes. Thank you in advance..

topomax will definitely cause nausea. (im in the same boat as you). bi2, anxiety. cant stop throwing up. pain in abdomen. take a look at the top of the postings and see all of the tests they have put me through-they still cant find anything wrong with me. :( im sorry youre having a hard time. hang in there. ps i vomited the entire time i was on topomax (topamax). i lost a LOT of weight.
