Nawing discomfort between lower ribs and sensation food is stuck in lower throat

Since I was 4 months pregnant, I would have an extreme burning sensation in lower throat every day. I am now 5 months post partum and although I don't have burning in my throat as frequently, I now have sensation that "pill is stuck in my throat" or feeling that food won't go down the right way after eating. I am not choking or throwing up. I can swallow jsut feels as if it won't all go down. Sometimes my throat even feels very tight. It is not anxiety becasue I am on Lexapro and currently not anxious. I have tried every antacid ( prilosec, pepcid, nexium and now zantac) nothing is working. I also have discomfort/burning/tenderness about 5 inces above navel. I have had an upper endoscope which came back normal. GI claims it is spasms, but I have never had that and it happens multiple times throughout the day What could it be or what other tests should I have? I am very uncomfortable. The symptoms are getting worse not better. I am not a smoker or a drinker and I do not have my gall bladder. Please advise.

GERD can increase with pregnancy.  PPI's or H2 blockers like the medications you have tried normally would control the symptoms.  The upper endoscopy would rule out things like an ulcer or inflammation of the upper abdominal tract.

If esophageal spasm is considered, you can obtain a motility study and/or 24-hr pH test.

These studies should be discussed with your personal physician, or in conjunction with your GI specialist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I am unable to eat greasy or fatty foods as well as acidic foods or drinks.  I had an ultrasound done but it did not reveal any gallstones.  I have a pain or burning sensation in my throat when I eat ketchup or drink lemonade.  I am afraid to eat certain foods because of the pain I get in my throat as well as the pain I get in my abdomen.  I have lost 10 pounds in 1-week and don't know where to go from here.  Any advice?
