Need help!

I know this isnt the correct forum for this question, but its the closest I could find and I hope you will be able to help me. For about probly close to 10 years now I get what I call my appendicitis pain. Lower right side sometimes with nausa. It is usualy around the time of my period, some times before sometimes after. Fot the first few years i went to the ER a lot thinking it was my appendix wich it never was. But still to this day when i get this pain, i cant help but think it could be my appendix. I have been to many doctors who all have told me there is nothing wrong and one doctor who told me it was probably        ( widdershins?) I have looked this up on the web abd can not find anything on it. This is very frustrating for me due to the fact that when i get this all i want to do is laydown and sleep and hope the pain goes away or sit and wonder if indeed it is my appendix this time. Please help!

Have you had your ovaries checked? Ovarian cysts can cause this type of pain.
Also you can have a scarred appendix and not know it. Not sure if it would cause the kind of pain you discribe. I had my appendix removed during my ovarian cyst surgery. It used to be common to have it removed when you had another surgery. Thinking it might save you a surgery later. My Drs were surprised at the amount of scarring I had on the appendix and said they didn't know anyone who had an apparent attack at some time and never knew it. I never had pain.

Sandy,  I think the term you're looking for is mittleschmertz and refers to mid-cycle ovulatory pain.  hope that helps.

I had pain like that for about 23 years.  Alway, thought it was just part of being blessed with "the cicle".  But, as I got older the pain got worse.  It was so bad they started doing all kinds of test.  It was found that I had displasia and they went in and scraped the inside of my uterus.  This is a very simple proceedure.  Then about 3 years later.  The pain was back again only worse.  THEY AGAIN DID MANY TEST.  But found nothing wrong.
I was bleeding every other week for a while.  Then it would do its thing for about 10 days and stop for a couple of days and start again.  YET!!! They could find nothing wrong.  Finally, my doctor took pitty on me and scheduled a hystorectomy.  That was a God send. (by-the-way, I was 36 at that time. I didn't plan on having anymore children.)  I know this doesn't help you.  I just wanted to let you know that there is not alway an explaination for why we wemon have to suffer so.

Don't give up.  See a gynacoligist.  They know more about this stuff then you family doctor.

Best to you!!

I had a cyst removed about 8 years ago because what started it was me walking around with a 104 temp for 3 days with flu like symptoms. I was put in hospital and had emergency surgery for appendix rupture and they took out an ovarian cyst too. I don't want to scare you with the emergency thing but all I felt like for months was like I had the flu off and on . Even when I walked pain would radiate up into my whole abdomen. What made me get to the ER was the temp. that wouldn't go away. They said at first it was dehydration and an iv for a few hours was all i'd need then I couldn't pee on my own like everything in my abdominal area kinda paralyzed so they did an ultrasound in the morning around 11am and I was put in surgery about 4pm. Everything went away...pain everything. Now I have the cyst back again on the same side even after being onBCP since surgery which supposedly helps stop cysts from forming....I obviously am proof that they do not. So be very very persistant....because all the hospitals and drs won't listen if you only complain one time or a couple of times. If you find no help go to a big teaching hospital. I don't know where you are from but usually that is where they can help you the most because they know and see all kinds of stuff a small area hospital wouldn't normally see, I am a nursing student so I kind of figured it out by what I have seen and experienced while in school.
